Baldwin Ave., around 12:36 p.m. Witnesses told police the suspect stole $2,600 in merchant rise and fled the location in a Mercedes-Benz sedan, Arcadia Police said. Officers found the car fleeing on the 210 freeway and stopped the driver. The driver, a 23-year-old North Las Vegas woman, was identified and taken into custody. She was booked on suspicion of grand theft and on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. A third man acted as a lookout. All three suspects fled after taking the cash. All three suspects are described as Black men, 20 to 30 years old, around 6 feet tall and wore hooded sweatshirts. Tsai Chi Huang was last seen October 16 at 2 p.m. as she walked away from her home in the 300 block of Walnut Avenue. She may be heading to San Gabriel, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Huang does not drive, walks with a limp and is assisted by a red walker. Huang is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 100 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue and white hat, a beige jacket and black pants. Robert Anthony Padilla was found after a search in Temple City October 16 led investigators to Silver City, New Mexico. Padilla is being held in the Grant County Detention Center in New Mexico and is awaiting extradition on felony charges, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Padilla, 27, bail has been set at $1.45 million. Investigators with the Arcadia Police detective bureau said DNA evidence collected after the September 8 sex assault pinpointed Padilla as a suspect. Padilla is accused of approaching his victim from behind when he forced her to behind a bush or hedge where he sexually assaulted her in the 2300 block of Santa Anita Avenue September 8. While Padilla was fleeing from authorities, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The vehicle damaged a portion of May Mei Restaurant, 639 W. Duarte Rd., around 2:19 p.m. when the vehicle was driven through a large plate glass window, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The 65-year-old woman behind the wheel was not arrested. No injuries were reported. The suspect, 27-year-old Robert Anthony Padilla of El Monte, was identified after DNA evidence gathered at the scene pinpointed Padilla as the suspect in the attack, Arcadia Police said. Padilla is accused of approaching his victim from behind when he forced her to behind a bush or hedge where he sexually assaulted her September 8 in the 2300 block of Santa Anita Avenue. His victim escaped and Padilla fled on a BMX bike. He is believed to be transient, Arcadia Police said. The case has already been presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. A felony warrant has been issued for Padilla’s arrest. Bail has already been set at $1.45 million. Padilla is a Hispanic male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs 190 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. During the outburst, the woman then screamed that she had a gun, according to the Arcadia Police Department. As officers were detaining her, the woman kicked an officer in the leg twice, Arcadia Police said. The woman was taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital. Hassan Deontrae Murphy, 18, was arrested by Pasadena Police officers assisting Arcadia Police with a search after Murphy and his accomplice fled their vehicle during the pursuit and jumped over a retaining wall at the 210 freeway west of Allen Avenue. Murphy and his accomplice fled a home in the 2000 block of Carolwood Drive around 11:24 a.m. Police responding to the burglary in progress call witnessed a suspicious white vehicle fleeing the area, Arcadia Police said. The pursuit driver struck two other vehicles before fleeing west on the 210, Arcadia Police said. No injuries were reported. It is unclear if the suspects stole any property from the home. The California Highway Patrol cleared the westbound 210 freeway west of Allen Avenue about 20 minute ago after being called to assist with closing the No. 4 and 5 lanes, according to Officer Stephen Brandt of the CHP Traffic Management Center. The Sig Alert was issued around Noon, Brandt said. It is unclear if the search is still underway, but the chase may have stemmed from a burglary in Arcadia. No further information is available. The crime unfolded at Victoria’s Secret, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., around 7 p.m. September 24. Surveillance footage caught two men taking the merchandise, equaling a loss of $6,544, according to the Arcadia Police Department. A suspect vehicle description was not given. Both men, described as Black and in their 20s, wore brown baseball hats. One suspect wore a grey and maroon plaid shirt with a Rolling Stones shirt underneath.
