Police were called to the living quarters area of the Race Track, 285 Huntington Dr., around 9 p.m. to a medical call, according to Lt. Roy Nakamura of the Arcadia Police Department. “It looks like it’s accidental, more of a medical problem than anything else. Definitely no signs of foul play,” Nakamura said. A caller reported to Arcadia Police that the man was unconscious and not breathing. He also suffered from a laceration to the body, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. It is not clear if the laceration is related to the man’s death. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has been notified and will be en route to investigate the cause of death. The robbery took place in the 900 block of Fairview Avenue around 1:43 a.m. As the victims were walking to the residence after parking, two men approached them. One of the was armed, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The suspects demanded wallets and money, which both victims surrendered. The suspects fled on foot. The suspects are described as Black males in their late teens or early 20s. Both were thin and wore dark hooded sweatshirts. Police responded to the area of Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue around 1:20 a.m. regarding numerous vehicles “obstructing the intersection and driving recklessly,” said Sgt. Tony Juarez of the Arcadia Police Department. Officers dispersed the large crowd, which fled north on Baldwin Avenue and onto the eastbound 210 freeway where the drivers briefly impeded traffic before finally moving, Juarez said. Arcadia detectives still investigating the “takeover” encourage anyone with information on the incident to call Arcadia Police at 626-574-5151. The burglary was reported around 9:38 p.m. in the 1000 block of South 6th Avenue June 8. The homeowner encountered the suspect as he attempted to enter her home. The homeowner was able to scare off the suspect, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The suspect fled before officers arrived. The suspect is described as a light-skinned man, possibly Hispanic or Black. He wore a light blue hooded sweatshirt with a white graphic on the front. A second suspect was heard running from the home, but was never seen, Acadia Police said. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Three of four burglary suspects were arrested after being witnessed by a homeowner watching remote surveillance footage Wednesday night.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was detained as officers arrived to a home in the 200 block of Arbolada Drive around 7:45 p.m. to investigate suspicious circumstances. The homeowner watched one suspect approach the front door and ring the doorbell while three other suspects gained access to the rear yard, according to Lt. Roy Nakamura of the Arcadia Police Department. Officers arrested the driver after finding property believed to be stolen, Nakamura said. The search for the remaining suspects lasted after midnight. Officers and K9 units from South Pasadena, West Covina, Baldwin Park and helicopters from Pasadena and El Monte all assisted in the search. The suspects reportedly ran through a series of yards, necessitating a wide perimeter search. One of the suspects was found hiding in a garage and was subdued with force. That suspect was taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for treatment, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. A third suspect was found before the search was called off. Arrested were Kivon Frazier, from Highland, and Shilaney Denham and Marcel Bridgette, bothfrom San Bernardino. All three arebeing held in the Arcadia Police jail, in lieu of $50,000, Nakamura said. The outstanding suspect is a Black man, in his early 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds, has a slender build and was seen wearing a grey hoodie and blue sweat pants. The wide containment search is occurring in the area of Arbolada Drive and Rancho Road. The search includes aid from South Pasadena, West Covina and Baldwin Park Police. A police search team has possibly found and detained the three suspects hiding in a resident’s garage. No further information is available. Francisco Gutierrez, 18, was arrested June 2 after taking a bait package equipped with a GPS tracker from the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue, Arcadia Police said. Police received notification that the package was moved around 12:16 a.m. Police coordinated a response and identified the location of the package. Gutierrez was located, detained by officers and found to be in possession of the tracker. Arcadia Police has employed a proactive program to combat an increase of package thefts by deploying bait packages equipped with a GPS tracker, placing them in neighborhoods. Gutierrez was booked on suspicion of burglary. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A handgun, narcotics and cash were seized at the end of a pursuit in Arcadia last week.
Officers attempted to stop the driver, 27-year-old Antonio Lamon Dismuke, for speeding at Colorado Street and Old Ranch Road around 10:34 a.m. June 2. He refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit, according to the Arcadia Police Department. During the chase, Dismuke tossed a loaded handgun from the vehicle before he eventually stopped. He was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle revealed narcotics and cash. Dismuke was driving on a suspended license and was on Post Release Community Supervision under AB 109, Arcadia Police said. Dismuke was booked on suspicion of felony reckless evading police, carrying a loaded stolen firearm and possession of methamphetamine. He is being held at the Men’s Central Jail on Los Angeles and is expected to make an appearance at Pasadena Superior Court June 7. The driver, and passenger, led Arcadia officers on a brief, high-speed pursuit into Pasadena where the driver crashed into a business, according to Sgt. Jason Davis of the Arcadia Police Department. The driver sped away after an officer tried to pull him over in a residential area for a vehicle code violation just after 10 p.m. June 4. The driver refused to stop and led police on a chase into Pasadena. The driver crashed at Rosemead Bouelvard and Blanch Street. Both suspects fled on foot. The driver was arrested, but the passenger is outstanding, Davis said. Arrested was Deandre Daytan Macintosh, Jr., He is being held at the Arcadia Police Department’s jail with a bail of $75,412.00 The passenger is a Black man in his early 20s.
