The officer shot the woman in the upper torso after she pulled a kitchen knife tucked in her pocket, raised it above her shoulders and advanced toward the Officer, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. She kept advancing toward the officer, and at one point, removed a kitchen knife from her pocket. She then began running toward the officer with the knife raised above her shoulders, holding it in a stabbing position.
