Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA – The suspect booked on suspicion of attempted murder after reportedly driving his vehicle through a 7-Eleven November 24 made headlines in Monrovia for extensive vandalism.
Sterling Williamson, 23, was arrested April 19, accused of slashing the tires on as many as 25 vehicles in Monrovia over a three-day period. Black and white security video showed a suspect in a hooded sweatshirt casually slicing tires on a variety of vehicles. Williamson allegedly caused a disturbance at an Arcadia 7-Eleven November 24 just before 7 a.m., throwing merchandise at employees. He left the store, entered a vehicle and drove the vehicle through the front doors of the convenience store where employees and customers were standing, according to the Arcadia Police Department. “The driver attempted to flee but was detained by store employees and customers until officers arrived,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. Williamson is being held in lieu of $2 million bail ahead of a scheduled appearance at the Pasadena courthouse November 29. An unknown suspect smeared feces on a wall to spell out a racial slur at the library, 20 W. Duarte Rd. An officer responded to investigate the vandalism at 10:14 a.m. February 14, according to the Arcadia Police Department. No suspect was apparently seen and no witnesses were located, Arcadia Police said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A 43-year-old man is accused of destroying the inside of a church October 5 after climbing a hose to the second story of the building. Police discovered the scene after responding to a burglary call around 7:30 a.m. at Arcadia Community Church, 121 Alice St. After the suspect climbed to the second story, he shattered the windows of several doors, ransacked multiple rooms, and set a fire, Arcadia Police said. After the suspect was located, he was found with methamphetamine, Arcadia Police said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Detectives are trying to determine who burned an American flag after removing it from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The flag was found burned at the church, 614 W. Foothill Blvd., just after 6:13 p.m. Wednesday, July 3. The vandalism is believed to have occurred between July 2 and July 3, according to the Arcadia Police Department. At the time the department prepared its Weekly Report, no suspects were seen and no witnesses were located. |
