CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A multi-city raid orchestrated by Arcadia Police detectives netted 19 arrests and a seizure of drugs and cash August 21. The raids, conducted at several locations within Arcadia and one in Rosemead, yielded arrests for various charges, including prostitution, pimping, possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics for sales. Drugs, including ecstasy, marijuana, cocaine, $250,000 in cash and other items related to prostitution were confiscated, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The investigation into allegations of prostitution and brothels operating in the city began in March of 2024. Detectives identified several residences: the 100 block of West Live Oak Ave, the 800 block of Arcadia Avenue and the 2700 block of Holly Avenue. Both suspects, 30-year-old Rosemead man Dan Lopez and 38-year-old Tao Mach of Diamond Bar, were detained during a traffic stop after officers were alerted that the vehicle the suspects were in had entered the city, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Officers were alerted to the vehicle entering the city at 4:06 a.m. December 23. Both suspects were booked on a variety of charges, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA – A search warrant help reveal a large-scale drug operation inside an Arcadia home, police said. A woman was arrested and 400 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana was seized as a result of a search warrant and ongoing investigation in the 1800 block of Oakwood, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Officers spoke with the woman during the ongoing investigation. They soon developed probably cause that a large-scale drug operation was occurring, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The unidentified woman was booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sales. The packaged marijuana was destroyed, according to the Arcadia Police Department. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA – A 43-year-old Arcadia man was booked on suspicion of animal cruelty, negligent use of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics for sales after he allegedly shot a dog November 27.
Officers were sent to the 700 block of West Lemon Avenue to the shooting call. The suspect re-entered his residence, but officers met with a woman who denied a man lived there. She consented to a search, according to the Arcadia Police Department. “After further questioning, officers were able to identify the suspect and determined he was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. Surveillance was conducted in the area and around 5:45 p.m. the suspect was spotted and detained. A search of the suspect’s home revealed large amounts of narcotics that appeared to be for sale, according to the Arcadia Police Department. |
