CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - The driver of a stolen white Toyota Camry was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after initially leading South Pasadena Police officers on a pursuit. South Pasadena Police officers located the stolen Camry after receiving a Flock camera notification just before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 28. The driver allegedly refused to stop and recklessly evaded officers who called off the pursuit due to the unsafe conditions, according to Sgt. Spencer Louie of the South Pasadena Police Department. The suspect reportedly abandoned the stolen Camry in Arcadia, Louie told SGV CityWatch. Arcadia Police assisted with a search. A perimeter search for the suspect unfolded near Fairview Avenue and Hungate Lane. Details of where exactly the suspect was found and the suspect’s booking information were not readily available. Officers attempted to stop the U-Haul seen leaving the area of a burglary alarm call in the 11000 block of Clark Street December 17 around 3 a.m., according to the Arcadia Police Department. “Officers conducted their initial investigation and discovered property from the victim business, a sledge hammer, bolt cutters, and flashlights,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. A West Covina man and a Los Angeles man were both arrested. Amongst the charges are commercial burglary, evading a peace officer and possession of burglary tools. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA – An Oxnard man already on probation for robbery was put behind bars December 9 after fleeing officers with a stolen package in tow and attempted to steal a vehicle after breaking into a resident’s home in North Hollywood.
The package, unbeknownst to the suspect, was a bait package featuring a hidden GPS device that alerted officers. The package was taken from the 200 block of East Magna Vista Avenue around 3:13 p.m., according to the Arcadia Police Department. Officers tracked the suspect’s movements through multiple cities. A brief pursuit was initiated into Burbank, but the chase was cancelled after the reckless suspect crashed into another vehicle and continued to flee, according to the Arcadia Police Department. A police helicopter was used to track the suspect into North Hollywood where he collided with two parked vehicles. He fled on foot. “While fleeing, the suspect entered a home in the 6600 block of Lernay Street in North Hollywood. He confronted the resident inside, stole car keys, and ran from the home,” according to the Arcadia Police Department in a written statement. “The suspect attempted to steal a vehicle parked on the street but was unsuccessful.” Residents chased the suspect who continued to run. He hid in a rear yard in the 6600 block of Morella Avenue in North Hollywood where officers arrested the suspect without further incident. A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed the bait package and multiple other pieces of stolen property. He was booked on suspicion of grand theft, evading a peace officer, burglary attempted vehicle theft, hit and run and for multiple outstanding warrants. The suspect, an Oxnard man, was held in lieu of $360,000 bail. ARCADIA - A suspect accused of carjacking an older driver in Stanton Sunday afternoon was taken into custody while strolling through lanes of the 210 freeway at Baldwin Avenue after disabling a stolen minivan. The California Highway Patrol Baldwin Park Office began chasing the suspect in the Pomona area on the westbound I-10 freeway around 4:20 p.m. The suspect drove recklessly across all lanes, according to CHP radio traffic. The unidentified suspect began a road rage incident at the Katella Mobile Home Estates, 10800 Dale Ave., in Station around 1:30 p.m. The suspect abandoned his own vehicle and stole a red minivan from its female driver, according to Carrie Braun, director of public affairs and community engagement at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Orange County deputies could not locate the stolen van, which was identified to surrounding agencies, Braun said. The suspect, chased by CHP officers, drove at high speeds against red lights and sometimes in opposing traffic lanes. Officers on the ground decided to have only a helicopter track the suspect due to his dangerous driving.
The suspect sped through West Covina, Baldwin Park, Irwindale and the 605 freeway to the westbound 210 where he exited in Monrovia. The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled into an occupied home near Norumbega Drive and Shamrock Avenue in Monrovia where residents fled in terror. He allegedly assaulted a woman inside and demanded a vehicle before fleeing into the red minivan. He escaped before law enforcement could arrive. A crash occurred as the suspect exited Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia when the suspect rammed a white vehicle twice. With the minivan disabled the suspect, he casually walked into an intersection and onto the 210 freeway, bringing traffic to a halt until CHP officers arrested him. Braun did not have booking information for the suspect. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Officers chased the driver and passengers of a stolen vehicle November 30 and the chase ultimately ended in an injury crash. The driver of a vehicle stolen from the LAPD’s Van Nuys Division refused to yield for an enforcement stop near Colorado Boulevard and Old Ranch Road around 10 p.m. Saturday. according to the Arcadia Police Department. The chase lasted less than one minute when the suspect crashed into a vehicle and injured two occupants at Colorado Boulevard and Michillinda Avenue, Arcadia Police said.
After the crash, police learned the vehicle was stolen. Three people fled the stolen ride. Only two were caught, Arcadia Police said. Two people in the vehicle struck were hospitalized with minor injuries. The suspect took a package from the area of Huntington Drive and Michillinda Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. April 23. The suspect refused to stop for officers once found and evaded them, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The suspect in a grey 2015 four-door Kia Optima fled from officers at high speed, sometimes reaching 90 miles per hour on surface streets, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic.
Due to the unsafe speed, officers cancelled the pursuit near Rosemead Boulevard and Del Mar Boulevard in Pasadena, Arcadia Police said. When the GPS tracker became stationary, officers found the abandoned suspect vehicle near Del Mar Boulevard and Craig Avenue in Pasadena, Arcadia Police said. The vehicle was actually located in the 2100 block of San Pasqual Street. The stolen package was recovered and the suspect outstanding. One person has been detained, according to the Sierra Madre Police Department, which is assisting Arcadia officers with a yard-to-yard search. The search is being conducted in the area of West Floral Avenue and Rodeo Road. The search for the fleeing pursuit suspects began some time before 6 p.m. near the 210 freeway and Santa Anita Avenue. Sergio Regalado, 25, was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence with prior convictions and felony evading officers, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. Pasadena Police attempted to stop Regalado around 9:13 p.m. after a Good Samaritan followed him from the 110 freeway to Pasadena city streets. Regalado sped away from officers. Due to his erratic driving, a helicopter tracked his movements, Pasadena Police said. Sheriff’s deputies began pursuing Regalado as he entered their jurisdiction. Deputies followed Regalado from Old Ranch and Huntington Drive as he nearly hit pedestrians, ran red lights and sped along city streets. The pursuit went into San Gabriel where Regalado almost got caught in a cul-de-sac, but he wormed his way past deputies to keep the pursuit alive. Regalado crashed into two civilian vehicles at Huntington Drive and Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia. One of the civilian vehicles flipped and came to rest on its side. Both Regalado and a driver in one of the other vehicles were both briefly hospitalized. Hassan Deontrae Murphy, 18, was arrested by Pasadena Police officers assisting Arcadia Police with a search after Murphy and his accomplice fled their vehicle during the pursuit and jumped over a retaining wall at the 210 freeway west of Allen Avenue. Murphy and his accomplice fled a home in the 2000 block of Carolwood Drive around 11:24 a.m. Police responding to the burglary in progress call witnessed a suspicious white vehicle fleeing the area, Arcadia Police said. The pursuit driver struck two other vehicles before fleeing west on the 210, Arcadia Police said. No injuries were reported. It is unclear if the suspects stole any property from the home. The California Highway Patrol cleared the westbound 210 freeway west of Allen Avenue about 20 minute ago after being called to assist with closing the No. 4 and 5 lanes, according to Officer Stephen Brandt of the CHP Traffic Management Center. The Sig Alert was issued around Noon, Brandt said. It is unclear if the search is still underway, but the chase may have stemmed from a burglary in Arcadia. No further information is available. |
