Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Police attempting to pull over a suspicious vehicle gave chase to the driver after he refused to stop Monday night.
The driver, and passenger, led Arcadia officers on a brief, high-speed pursuit into Pasadena where the driver crashed into a business, according to Sgt. Jason Davis of the Arcadia Police Department. The driver sped away after an officer tried to pull him over in a residential area for a vehicle code violation just after 10 p.m. June 4. The driver refused to stop and led police on a chase into Pasadena. The driver crashed at Rosemead Bouelvard and Blanch Street. Both suspects fled on foot. The driver was arrested, but the passenger is outstanding, Davis said. Arrested was Deandre Daytan Macintosh, Jr., He is being held at the Arcadia Police Department’s jail with a bail of $75,412.00 The passenger is a Black man in his early 20s. He was wearing dark clothing. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - A man who masked himself by wearing a motorcycle helmet robbed a Verizon store of several cell phones Tuesday morning.
The suspect entered the Verizon store, 655 W. Duarte Rd. around 10 a.m. and displayed a handgun during the crime. He then fled the store and sped off on a copper and black-colored Suzuki motorcycle, said Lt. Tom Cullen of the Arcadia Police Department. Monrovia Police officers quickly learned of the crime and located a possible matching motorcycle in their city at Duarte Road and Myrtle Avenue, said Sgt. William Burkhalter of the Monrovia Police Department. The rider sped off and entered the eastbound 210 freeway, fleeing pursuing Monrovia officers at more than 100 miles per hour. The suspect quickly got away from Monrovia police, who last saw the suspect eastbound on the freeway at Sunflower Avenue in Glendora. The rider wore a black helmet, black jacket, dark pants and a blue backpack. |
