Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Police arrested a woman April 19 after she stole a GPS bait package while on her way to pick up her niece from school.
Arrested was Evline Bilboussian, a 38-year-old Pasadena resident. She took the package from a residence in the 400 block of West Norman Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. Officers followed the GPS signal to a vehicle parked near Baldwin Stocker Park in the 400 block of West Lemon Avenue, Arcadia Police said. The woman was found and arrested. Arcadia officers have employed a vigorous decoy package program to combat an increase in package thefts. Bicycles and packages fitted with GPS devices have been used in an effort to locate and arrest perpetrators. Bilboussian was booked on suspicion of grand theft. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ARCADIA - Four people ran off with a collection of handbags they stole from Boutique 5 nearly one week ago, police said.
The crime was reported around 3 p.m. at the store, 733 W. Naomi Ave. One suspect entered the store and asked to see a Chanel handbag. After placing the handbag on her shoulder, she walked around the store in search of more purses. Her three accomplices then entered and began taking bags, Arcadia Police said. The four thieves grabbed as many handbags as they could carry and fled the store, entered a vehicle and drove away west on Naomi Avenue. The suspects are three Black women and one Black man, all 18 to 23 years old. The value of the stolen merchandise was not disclosed. The suspects entered the home in the 1400 block of Carmelita Place around 1:30 a.m. The suspects smashed a window to the master bedroom and ransacked the house, Arcadia Police said. The suspects fled through a sliding glass door. The investigation is ongoing. |
