The fire is 20 feet by 20 feet wide. A full brush fire assignment has been requested to the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. There is no immediate word on how the fire is affecting nearby traffic. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor POMONA - Three people were arrested after a plethora of community tips helped identify the people responsible for a gas station shooting, Pomona Police said. While the three people arrested remain unnamed for now, the outstanding gunman was identified as 34-year-old Rigoberto Perez of Azusa, an AB109 probationer for narcotics and in known to carry weapons, Pomona Police said. Police warn the community to not approach Perez, as he is considered armed and dangerous. The suspect vehicle arrived, picked up Perez and the female and fled the area.
The handgun used in the shooting is also outstanding. The suspect vehicle is a black, early 2000s Nissan Sentra, which is missing the rear passenger hub cap. Perez is 5 feet 4 inches tall, 175 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. Perez is extensively tattooed, with the name “Mia” and City of Los Angels tattooed on his chest, Rosary and females on his right arm and a Chevy emblem and Perez tattooed on his back. Their victim, only described as male, was shot and critically wounded around 12:30 a.m. near the Arco, 805 Rio Rancho Rd. Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an attempted carjacking, Pomona Police said. The male and female suspect were dropped off and both approached their victim. The male approached the victim and shot him several times, Pomona Police said in a written statement. The suspect vehicle arrived, picked up the male and female suspects and fled the area. The handgun used in the shooting is also outstanding. The male suspect is in his 30’s, has tattoos on both arms and has a mustache. The female suspect is in her 30’s. No other description is available. The suspect vehicle is a black, early 2000s Nissan Sentra, which is missing the rear passenger hub cap.
