First responders were sent to a report of a person down in an alleyway behind the 700 block of Hawthorne Place just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 21. The victim was suffering from several stab wounds and he was declared dead at the scene, according to the Pomona Police Department. The stabbing occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Mission Boulevard. Investigators have yet to reveal the circumstances behind the stabbing, but the suspect was caught on security camera inside of a local liquor store prior to the stabbing. Jesus Perez-Paniagua, a 21-year-old Pomona man, was formally charged October 10 with four counts of attempted murder, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of armed robbery and one count of possession of a dagger, according to the Pomona Police Department. Officers were called to the 400 block of East Kingsley Avenue around 1:12 a.m. October 7 and found two victims with multiple stab wounds. The suspect was not found and both victim were treated at a hospital for their wounds, according to the Pomona Police Department. Around 1:30 a.m., officers were told of a stabbing victim that wound up at a hospital. The third stabbing occurred in the 500 block of Vinton Street. Around 6:40 a.m., a fourth stabbing call was made. In the 900 block of North Eleanor Street, officers found a stabbing victim who reported being robbed as well, but the victim was able to provide a suspect description and described the property stolen, according to the Pomona Police Department. Perez was found and detained at Towne Avenue and Kingsley Avenue. Officers reportedly found a bloody knife in his possession and the stolen property. “Perez-Paniagua made statements indicating his involvement in the stabbing on Eleanor St.,” according to the Pomona Police Department in a written statement. A warrant search at Perez’s home helped investigators find additional evidence tying to the first two stabbings, according to the Pomona Police Department. All four victims are expected to recover. Montclair man Javier Perez, 33, is accused of stabbing a 26-year-old Ontario man just before 3 a.m. Halloween night inside a home in the 900 block of East 6th Street. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso. He received life-saving surgery and is recovering, according to the Pomona Police Department.
Detectives with the Pomona Police Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation, developed leads and identified Perez as a suspect November 4, Pomona Police said. Perez is known to the victim, Pomona Police said. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed the charge against Perez November 6. Paul Robert Jones III was encountered by police who responded to a caller claiming to have been stabbed in the 1100 block of Brewster Drive around 8:08 a.m. June 28. He suffered from a cut on his arm, according to the Pomona Police Department.
As officers approached the front door, they heard a voice inside asking for help.Once in the home, officers found Marshonn Jones, 54, deceased, the Pomona Police Department said. Paul Robert Jones Sr., 76, was hospitalized. The motive remains unclear. Jones III was booked on suspicion of murder. The suspect, Gerald Dominguez, a 52-year-old resident of Azusa, was taken into custody after fleeing into two homes, one of them occupied. A police officer helped convince Dominguez to surrender peacefully, according to the Pomona Police Department in a written statement. The stabbings occurred at the Pomona Transit Center, 100 W. Commercial St. Dominguez stabbed one rider who is sleeping and stabbed another in the arm, according to the Pomona Police Department. Dominguez, still armed with a knife, fled into an occupied home and encountered a woman in the 400 block of West Monterey. The suspect fled into another home in the 400 block of N. Rebecca St. where he remained for a few hours. “Officers and our Crisis Negotiation officers arrived and saw the suspect inside and armed with the knife. For almost 2 hours, Officer Megan Gonzalez attempted to de-escalate the situation and get the suspect to safely surrender,” Pomona Police said. Rafael Sanchez, 32, was found guilty of one count of first-degree murder in the death of pizza parlor supervisor Daniel Anthony Sanchez, 21, according to Ricardo Santiago of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The jury also found true the allegation that a knife was used during the killing.
Rafael Sanchez faces 26 years to life in state prison, Santiago said. Daniel Sanchez was stabbed in the neck and back March 10, 2018, after Rafael told him to do his work Rafael is scheduled to be sentenced January 15, 2020 in Pomona Superior Court. The incident occurred in a resident’s yard in the 800 block of East Second Street. The suspect chased the dog around the front yard and used what was described as a large-edged weapon to kill the dog — the whole thing caught on surveillance camera, Pomona Police said. The suspect may be a transient who resides in and frequents the 800 block of East Second Street. He is described as a male Hispanic or Caucasian, 30 to 35 years old. He stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds.
The suspect wore a a fisherman-style hat, a grey t-shirt, shorts, black socks and sandals. Anyone who has suspect information is urged to call Pomona Police at 909-620-2085. Police responded to a reported stabbing victim outside the school, 321 W. Lexington Ave., around 1:20 p.m. June 20 and found the teen suffering from multiple wounds. Officers canvassed the area and located a suspect, according to the Pomona Police Department.

The stabbing occurred behind a building in the 900 block of East Holt Avenue around 11:39 a.m. The men, described as transient, began to argue over narcotics when one man stabbed the other, according to Lt. Perez of the Pomona Police Department. The victim was stabbed in the back and later taken to an area hospital in stable condition. He is cooperating with the investigation, Perez said.
The suspect remains at-large. “There are some good leads to lead to his identification. Hopefully in the next few days, we’ll be able to positively identify him and submit for an arrest warrant,” Perez said. The location of the stabbing is apparently known to harbor a transient camp, Perez said.
