The crash involved a Los Angeles County Fire utility truck at South Park Avenue and Rio Rancho Road at 11:33 a.m., according to Vanessa Lozano of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Two children were critically injured. An adult was also critically injured. Two other adults suffered moderate and minor injuries.

Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor POMONA - A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after an unspecified number of suspects opened fire into an occupied home, police said. A man in his 40s was struck nine times. More bullets missed high and spared three children playing video games in the front room of the home, hitting a wall next to them. Two other family members within were spared injury, Pomona Police said. The shooting occurred in the 1600 block of South Palomares Street around 9:11 p.m. June 4.
The wounded man was conscious and talking with officers and was able to provide information to them, but that information has not been publicized. Officers arrived to State & Federal Poster, 4020 Valley Blvd. #103, for an attempted burglary call. After reviewing surveillance footage, a man on a BMX bike was seen attempting to enter the building, Pomona Police said. The suspect is a white or Hispanic man, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 150 to 170 pounds. He wore a black Adidas track suit with a white logo and stripes, a maroon beanie with a white logo on front and a grey backpack.

Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor POMONA - Firefighters knocked down a one-acre brush fire early Tuesday morning. The fire was seen in the hills to the southwest of the 200 block of Humane Way around 4:42 a.m. June 4 behind a water reclamation plant, according to Joey Napoli of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A full brush fire response was called, including a helicopter, but the helicopter was called off, leaving the work to ground crews.
The one-acre fire burned in light to heavy vegetation and crept uphill. Firefighters on scene reported the likely source of the fire as a homeless encampment, Napoli said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor POMONA - A victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries Sunday after being stabbed during an argument, police said. The stabbing occurred behind a building in the 900 block of East Holt Avenue around 11:39 a.m. The men, described as transient, began to argue over narcotics when one man stabbed the other, according to Lt. Perez of the Pomona Police Department. The victim was stabbed in the back and later taken to an area hospital in stable condition. He is cooperating with the investigation, Perez said.
The suspect remains at-large. “There are some good leads to lead to his identification. Hopefully in the next few days, we’ll be able to positively identify him and submit for an arrest warrant,” Perez said. The location of the stabbing is apparently known to harbor a transient camp, Perez said.
