The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is set to begin Friday, December 14 and last through January 1, 2019. Pomona Police will deploy DUI saturation patrols at the start of the campaign. The DUI/driver license checkpoint is scheduled for Friday, December 21, according to the Pomona Police Department. The checkpoint will run from 9 p.m. December 21 to 3 a.m. December 22. 25 people were killed statewide from December 22 to December 25, 2017 and December 30 to January 2. 643 were injured on California roads during the same period, according to the California Highway Patrol. “Whether you are at home with family or at the bar, it is important that you find a sober ride home after drinking,” said Sgt. William Knight of the Pomona Police Department. “As an adult, it is up to you to make adult decisions and drive sober, or use a ride share service.
