A patrol officer heard a crash nearby Holt Avenue and Clark Avenue around 11:49 p.m. April 26. The crash was located nearby on Holt Avenue east of Lorrane Avenue, according to the Pomona Police Department. The woman died at the scene. The second driver was not injured. “Witness statements indicate that the vehicle related to the critically-injured driver … may have been racing another vehicle westbound on Holt just prior to the collision; this information has not been confirmed,” according to the Pomona Police Department in a written statement. Police are investigating the death of the child, who remains publicly unnamed, after being called to the apartment complex in the 1800 block of Cordova Street around 5:30 a.m. Monday. Neighbors apparently arrived and attempted CPR until paramedics arrived. The boy was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital medical center, where he was pronounced, dead, according to the Pomona Police Department. Police have yet to reveal why the death appears to be suspicious. The Pomona Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating and has interviewed witnesses and family members. The investigation is ongoing in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The crash occurred in the area of East First Street and San Lorenzo Street just before 7:30 p.m. January 26. The bicyclist, only described as a 30-year-old Latino man, was found down in lanes of traffic. Los Angeles County firefighter paramedics pronounced the rider deceased at the scene, according to the Pomona Police Department. The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. It is not believe the intoxication played a role, according to the Pomona Police Department.
